Welcome
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the UNM Family Development Program website, a space rooted in a rich history of equity, social justice, and civic engagement. We are delighted to have you join our community as we work together to uplift New Mexico children and families, advocate for educational success, and foster lasting social change.
Our program's foundation lies in the belief that knowledge is power. We understand how poverty can limit access to essential resources and hinder children from realizing their full potential. To combat this, we have forged strong partnerships with early childhood professionals, state leaders, families, and community groups, focusing on equitable access to early childhood development educational support. We firmly believe that when parents have access to knowledge, they become the most informed advocates for their children's well-being.
At the UNM Family Development Program, we envision a future where the well-being of our children and their families is at the core of everything we do. To bring this vision to life, we commit to the following principles:
- Sharing Knowledge: We pledge to share our highest quality knowledge about the importance of early learning, encouraging others to make the same commitment to early childhood development.
- Promoting Learning: We are dedicated to understanding how children learn and promoting collaborative learning between educators and families to nurture children's healthy development and extraordinary learning potential.
- Collaboration: We promise to engage in meaningful collaborations that inform local and state decision-making, advocating for wise investments in early childhood as the foundation for lifelong success.
- Building Bridges: We are committed to building bridges of knowledge, innovation, and partnership. Together, we can realize our shared vision for the well-being of our children and the future of our community.
As you explore our website, you will find a wealth of resources, information, and opportunities to engage with like-minded individuals who share our passion for improving the well-being of children and families in New Mexico. We invite you to actively participate in our mission, whether through accessing our educational resources, joining our collaborations, or contributing your unique perspective to the conversation.
Thank you for joining us on this journey to create a better future for the children and families of New Mexico. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
With gratitude and determination,
Dr. Veronica Griego-Sanders
